Overview of the Online Certificate in Human Services
Do you feel your calling is to help others meet basic needs or improve their quality of life? Are you looking for the faith-based education and career support that only a Christian universitycan provide?
The Indiana Wesleyan University Human Services Certificate program affords students the opportunity to acquire specialized knowledge of the field of human services. In addition to an overview of sociology, cultural anthropology and the psychology of personality, this program provides specific emphasis in current social problems, crisis intervention, and issues in marriage and family that can be of great benefit to people in business, ministry, healthcare, community and social services, and many other professions and services. The certificate itself serves as documentation of this accomplishment, as does the transcript notation.
Completion of a certificate program in human services can serve as a signal to prospective employers that you are a person with the drive and determination to excel. Not only will the course of study enhance your knowledge of human services, but earning the certificate also will distinguish you from others in your workplace or employment market. Students completing the Human Services Certificate can acquire a valuable competitive advantage in any career or profession.
The Human Services certificate undergraduate program is available to students currently in Associate and Bachelor's programs, and also to adult education students who are registered as unclassified. Degree-seeking students must earn at least nine of the 15 certificate credit hours at IWU. Unclassified students must complete all 15 credit hours through IWU to be eligible for the certificate.
