The One Button Studio, located in Indiana Wesleyan University Fort Wayne Education Center, is a simplified video recording setup that can be used without any previous video production experience. The design of the studio allows you to create high-quality and polished video projects without having to know anything about lights and cameras. You only need to bring your flash drive with you and push a single button.

The One Button Studio drastically simplifies the video production workflow for faculty, staff and students at IWU, eliminating several time-consuming steps. The end result is a studio experience that requires the bare minimum of time and effort while simultaneously providing a consistently high-quality result packaged on a thumb drive in a standard format video file.

After you have reserved the one button studio, simply bring a flash drive (preferably with at least 1gb of free space) to the studio, and you are ready to go! It's pretty simple:

Step 1: Insert USB drive.
When you insert your flash drive, the camera will automatically turn on.
Step 2: Push button.
When instructed, press the big red button. You’ll receive a 5-second countdown before the camera begins recording.
Step 3: Begin filming.
Now that you don’t have to worry about setting up the lights and camera, you can focus on what you have to say. . . so make it good!
Step 4: Push button / remove drive.
When you’re finished, press the button one more time to stop recording and save your video to your USB drive. WAIT to remove your drive until the on-screen prompt says it’s ok.

It is completely up to you what to do with your media content. You may want to do some basic editing which can be done on the studio editing computer.
Some users experience a synchronization error when playing back videos recorded in the One Button Studio. This is noticeable, in that the spoken words do not align with the moving of the speaker's lips.
Try playing back the file in a different program. Windows Media Player has been known to not align the audio and video properly. You may want to try Quick Time Player, or VLC player.
If you have tried various playback apps, and they all exhibit the same symptoms, then please explain your request to the Media Services desk workers. IMT staff may be able to retrieve a correctly-synced file from the archives folder.
You have a limited amount of time to use the space so...make it count! Know what you will want to present ahead of time.
Since your slides won't take up the full screen of your final recording, you will want them to be large, and legible. On a typical PowerPoint presentation, you won't want to use anything smaller than approximately a 32-point font for your text.
The backdrop in the studio is green fabric, so if you wear a green shirt, top, or suit, you may find yourself "disappearing" into the background.
There is a preview screen that will show what your video will look like. Although it is good to look at this before you press the button, once the recording has started, you will want to look straight ahead at the camera lens.
Provided in the studio is a lectern, couch, and a stool. Any of these can be used in your video, if it would be useful to you. If you would like to use a whiteboard for your video, mobile whiteboards are available.
The One Button Studio can be adjusted for use by those with special needs or mobility issues. Just call the support center ahead of time, or notify the Media Services desk worker who provides your access to the studio, and we will be happy to assist you with your recording.
The Fort Wayne reception desk has USB drives available for purchase; you are welcome to bring your own drive (1 GB minimum recommended).
Presentation content with audio, shared from your laptop or the presentation computer, cannot currently be recorded. Still images, logos, PowerPoint or Keynote presentations, will work just fine, when displayed on the optional flat panel display.
No. Do not touch the lights or the camera. While we understand that this could make your video better, it will inevitably degrade the quality of the patrons who are scheduled after you in the studio.
No. Please sit on one of the provided chairs or stools if your standing height is inadequate for correct positioning on the screen. If your head is not in the correct location, then the aiming of the lights and the microphone will be incorrect.
