Overview of the Mission-Driven Leadership Program

Lead the way upward.

Visionary church leadership capable of motivating communities toward a common goal requires intentional training. This IWU program provides one degree pathway for Christian leadership in many settings.

The Associate of Science Mission-Driven Leadership (ASMDL) program prepares students to step into leadership roles within churches, nonprofit organizations, or other faith-based contexts. Churches and nonprofit faith-based organizations require leaders to achieve a mission. For a church, reaching communities with the good news of Jesus Christ and discipling them takes vision and clear communication. At nonprofits, the mission is as unique as the organization, but strategic planning and communication is needed to accomplish clear goals set by a visionary leader.

Why a degree in Mission-Driven Leadership?

A visionary Christian leader is not just born, training in spiritual formation as a ministry leader provides long term benefits. A Mission-Driven Leadership degree offers practical tools in seeing Christian ministry visions systematically fulfilled. Training leaders in church ministries settings or in an existing nonprofit organization, right where they are already ministering, helps them communicate a vision effectively with efficient implementation of steps toward fulfillment of the vision for the local church and beyond.

Classes focus on self-analysis and growth, like the Foundations of Life Calling which helps dial in your vision. Lab classes utilize your current role in leadership, with the support of a mentor, to help develop skills in implementation. A degree in Mission-Driven Leadership offers a sure approach to growing your influence as a Christian leader.
