    NEW! IWU has received a significant grant to assist students in the Nursing Education specialization through the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP). 

    Your Master of Science in Nursing degree will prepare you to serve in a variety of settings, from the most prestigious hospitals to the vital needs of the mission field. Majors offered include the following:

    Nursing Administration

    Online 
    Students will be trained as sound fiscal and personnel managers who are effective stewards of health care resources. Coursework includes a practicum component as well as organizational behavior, financing, and role development. Participants will be prepared to assume leadership roles within a variety of health care settings, and will have the foundation necessary to work as nurse educators within the university setting. Graduates are eligible to apply for certification by the appropriate credentialing body.

    The curriculum of the Nursing Administration specialization meets the competencies and standards set by the American Organization of Nursing Executives (AONE).

    Nursing Education

    Online 
    Students will receive a solid theoretical foundation in the art and principles of effective education. Coursework includes a student teaching component as well as curriculum design, adult education, and program evaluation. Participants will be prepared to serve in schools and divisions of nursing, as well as take on educational leadership positions in hospitals, communities, and other areas.

    Graduates of the Nursing Education specialization are eligible to apply for certification by the appropriate credentialing body.

    Primary Care Nursing

    Greenwood, IN | Fort Wayne, IN | Florence, KY 
    This specialization prepares registered nurses as Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP). The focus of Primary Care is the interrelationship of theory, research, and evidence-based practice. Opportunities for development of critical thinking and clinical problem-solving skills are provided throughout the program.

    Graduates are eligible to apply for nurse practitioner certification by the appropriate credentialing body.

     

    Completed applications will be evaluated by the Graduate Nursing Admissions Committee as submitted.
