The rigorous curriculum for the World Languages Minor includes courses in one of the target languages (Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese) and English linguistics.
The experienced language faculty in the Division of Modern Language and Literature not only teach in the target language stateside but also sponsor travel courses that allow their students to engage language, culture, and history through an immersion experience in a country of the target language. With the advice of an experienced language faculty, students may also choose to earn some of their 300/400 level language credits as a study abroad at a college or university overseas.
The World Languages Minor at Indiana Wesleyan University pairs well with most disciplines in the College of Arts and Sciences such as Nursing, English, Writing, TESOL, Music, Social Work, Intercultural Studies, Business, Criminal Justice, to name a few.
Studying foreign language may increase one’s likelihood of gaining more employment opportunities.
