IWU Wind Ensemble concerts include a variety of musical styles featuring standard concert band literature, gospel and hymn arrangements, patriotic selections and historical transcriptions.
The Ensemble has toured extensively, performing in 17 different states and being featured at the Indiana Music Educators Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. The group has recorded three albums: "Riders for the Flag" (2002), "In Heaven's Air" (2004), and "Lead On, O King Eternal" (2007). In 2005, the IWU Wind Ensemble received a Heartland Arts Fund Grant in conjunction with the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Each year, the Wind Ensemble performs in churches and conducts a bi-yearly tour during spring break. If you would like to schedule the Wind Ensemble for your church or special event, it is best to submit your request as far in advance as possible, as their calendar fills up quickly.
