Christian Ministries
SOLID PREPARATION FOR A VARIETY OF CHURCH MINISTRIES
Indiana Wesleyan University's Bachelor of Science with a major in Christian Ministries degree will prepare you to serve as a pastor or staff minister in a variety of church settings. The program combines classical religion studies such as theology and church history with practical ministry courses such as leadership, counseling, worship, and Christian education.
The IWU Christian Ministries program may be taken as either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts. (Additional courses in ancient languages are required for the Bachelor of Arts.) This degree meets the ordination requirements for some denominations (including The Wesleyan Church) and provides a solid practical foundation for those who go on to seminary.
The students in the Christian Ministries program are highly active in campus ministries as well as in local churches every week where they lead worship, run exciting youth ministries, and serve in other areas.
CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES MINOR
A minor in Christian Ministries consists of 24 credit hours of courses specifically relating to professional preparation for pastoral or para-church ministry.
Students may also choose to earn an Associate of Science degree in Christian Ministries (a two-year program) for quick entry into the workforce and a foundation for further education.
