The Indiana Wesleyan University Pre-Art Therapy major is a combination of Art and Psychology courses. Art therapists work in a variety of areas, including clinical and nonclinical settings, with everyone from children to adults, utilizing art as a treatment and diagnosis tool for various types of impairments. Art therapy is used to develop social skills, heal emotional conflicts, and identify the root of certain family and social problems.
Graduates of this program are prepared to pursue graduate studies in art therapy in preparation to apply counseling skills and art skills together as a means of healing and enhancing life, helping patients to creatively work through a number of issues.
