The Talent Ladder, an Indiana Wesleyan University - National & Global (IWU) department, is pleased to announce an educational partnership with The Salvation Army’s (TSA) Kroc Centers to offer the Kroc Leadership Certificate program.
This nine-month program will provide courses that develop leaders for TSA’s Kroc Centers across the country and allow them to earn their leadership certificates through IWU’s Talent Ladder programming. These certificates will deliver needed training for officers serving in the Kroc Centers and current Kroc employees in management positions.
“The excellence of Indiana Wesleyan University is unsurpassed and is well suited to serve as the designated certifying academic institution for this initiative,” Lt. Colonel James Nauta, USA Central Kroc Project Specialist, said. “The Talent Ladder will build on and enhance the program’s early successes. It is so important to keep the mission of The Salvation Army at the center of this program, and we know that this is completely compatible with the mission of IWU.”
The Kroc Centers were a gift from Mrs. Kroc, widow of McDonald’s franchise founder Ray Kroc. She gifted TSA the money to support centers across the United States and provide a venue to underserved communities. Now, with 26 Kroc Centers in the United States and Puerto Rico, these centers provide opportunities for thousands of people to engage in various activities, arts and educational programs.
“This relationship is a great example of why we created the Talent Ladder,” said Dr. Lorne Oke, Associate Vice President of the Talent Ladder. “We're helping dedicated individuals improve their leadership skills with a customized certificate that meets their immediate needs as well as offers credit for further degree opportunities. TSA has a great vision for their people and we're extremely pleased to support them in the design and delivery of it.”
The Kroc Leadership Certificate provides a blended learning experience with both face-to-face intensives as well as online learning. It focuses on leadership, operations, finances, and programs that are unique to Kroc Centers all supported by the expertise of the Talent Ladder.
