Indiana Wesleyan University will graduate over 900 students on Saturday, Dec. 14 in two ceremonies in the Chapel Auditorium on the main Marion campus, 611 E. University Boulevard, Marion, IN.
The schedule for the commencement is as follows:
- 10 a.m. | All IWU-Marion undergraduate degrees and IWU-National & Global associate and bachelor level degrees (with the exception of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Social Work)
- 2 p.m. | All IWU-Marion graduate degrees and IWU-National & Global Bachelor of Science of Nursing and Bachelor of Social Work as well as all graduate and doctoral degrees
The commencement speaker is Reverend Donovan A. Coley, Sr., a native of Kingston, Jamaica who has served as the president and CEO for the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission since 2008. His organization provides restorative care to residents of Fort Wayne, Allen County and surrounding counties by providing aid for those dealing with poverty, trauma, mental illness, addictions and other general medical needs.
Under his leadership, The Rescue Mission has seen a great deal of change and “Pastor D”, as Coley is affectionately called, has set the organization up for success for future growth and sustainability. In 2013, The Rescue Mission was awarded the prestigious honor of being Northeast Indiana’s Torch Award winner, a symbol of business ethics and excellence. In 2015, Coley won the award as well.
Coley is an ordained minister and graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College and earned a master’s degree from Trinity International University. He’s also completed courses towards a Ph.D. in Missiology at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne.
General admission tickets for the graduation ceremonies are not required. For those who want to watch online, all ceremonies will be streamed live at www.indwes.edu/events/commencement/webcast.
IWU’s next commencement ceremonies are scheduled for April 28, 2020 and Aug. 7, 2020.
