Serving students in Ohio and southeast Indiana
Hi! My name is Maddie Bigham and I have the joy of serving students in Ohio and Southeast Indiana. I graduated from IWU in 2022 with my degrees in Strategic Communication and Spanish. This place provided opportunities for growth in so many areas of my life, and I believe IWU has so much to offer others as well. I was a campus tour guide for three years while I was a student, and that was when I discovered my great love for helping people discover all of the possibilities of college and bringing a sense of comfort and confidence to their college decision process. I hope to provide a similar experience for you as I assist you on your journey!
The size of the student body is small enough where you can be deeply known by those in your community, but also big enough to where you always have the opportunity to meet new people.
Hanging out with my friends and meeting new ones (residence hall lobbies and McConn were my favorite places to do this!). I also loved attending The Well, a worship night that takes place every Monday night in the Chapel loft!
I know firsthand that deciding where to go to college can sometimes be a stressful process, so I love having the opportunity to bring a sense of comfort to further equip prospective students and their loved ones to make a confident college decision.
This is a place committed to growth. Not just individual growth, but the act of taking steps to develop and grow as an academic community together. IWU is a place committed to making positive changes and I really appreciate that about this community.
I am continually inspired by people that overflow with genuine joy and gratitude, even in the midst of times filled with deep heartache and sorrow. Even when life gets tough, I look up to people that continue to have a smile on their faces and encourage those around them. This way of living speaks volumes to me!
I love to take long walks, journal my thoughts, and talk with friends over coffee! I also love pretty much all types of music and love learning about people’s particular music tastes.
Take the pressure off of yourself! It is really easy to get caught up in all of the details of what every school has to offer and get bogged down by the pressure to make all of the right decisions for yourself. This decision is yours to make, but don’t be afraid to ask for help! Talk with those you trust, ask good questions to your admissions counselor, and most importantly – pray for God’s guidance! This will help relieve some of the pressure you may feel about making a decision.
