For over a decade, Dr. Richard Hooker has nurtured and developed students of Graduate Counseling and Addictions Counseling programs at Indiana Wesleyan University to pursue their noble calling.
Biography
Dr. Richard Hooker is a clinical counselor with over 30 years of clinical experience. He has served as a faculty member in Addictions Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University since 2010. Dr. Hooker also serves on the State of Indiana Mental Health and Addictions Development Board. Dr. Hooker served as a clinical supervisor overseas for 7½ years supporting the Army family.
Interests
Dr. Hooker is the coordinator of the Adolescent Learning and Recovery Project (AALRP). Dr. Hooker and his students are also involved in applied research studies designed to assist organizations to improve clinical performance and outcomes. These include:
- Adolescent Relapse: An Examination of Node-Link Mapping (2020)
- Behavioral Couples Therapy: An Examination of Effectiveness (2017)
- Predicting Persistence and Success in the Recovery High School Environment (2014)
