Dr. Clark Cully is IWU’s Technology Division Chair, providing strategic direction, academic oversight, and faculty supervision for degree programs in data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), information technology, and cybersecurity.

Previously, Dr. Cully served as the Deputy Chief Data Officer (CDO) and Deputy Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer in charge of data and AI policy for over three million people in the Department. Over his 14 years at the Pentagon, he served as a senior advisor for numerous nuclear, cyber, innovation, and information technology initiatives.

Dr. Cully held additional national security roles with the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, NATO ISAF Headquarters in Afghanistan, the Office of Nonproliferation Research in the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Committee on International Security & Arms Control at the National Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Cully holds a Ph.D. in high-energy physics from the University of Michigan for quark research conducted at Fermi National Accelerator Lab and is an alumnus of Calvin University.  Dr. Cully is a recipient of the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the NATO Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Dr. Cully was a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Fellow at the C.S. Lewis Institute. He's also a committed husband, father of four young kids, and member of McLean Bible Church.
