Indiana Wesleyan University will graduate approximately 1,460 people on Saturday, Dec. 16 in two ceremonies in the Chapel Auditorium on the main Marion campus.
The 10 a.m. ceremony will confer the following degrees:
- Residential undergraduate degrees
- Non-residential bachelor degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Information Systems, General Studies, Healthcare Administration, Management, Marketing, and Theological Studies
The 2 p.m. ceremony will confer the following degrees:
- Non-residential bachelor degrees in Addictions Counseling, Biblical Studies, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology of Human Relations, and Social Work
- All graduate degrees
The commencement speaker will be Kizito Kalima, founder and executive director of the Peace Center for Forgiveness and Reconciliation. Kalima was born in 1979 in Rwanda as the youngest of 10 children. In 1994 the Kalima family was devastated by genocide. The family was separated and many in the family died. Kalima ended up attending high school and college in the United States. He now serves as a public speaker and advocate for genocide survivors. Kalima’s commencement address will discuss the theme of “overcoming adversity.”
Among this December’s graduates will be the first students from the following degree programs:
- Master of Science with a major in Accounting
- Master of Social Work
- Bachelor of Science with a major in Healthcare Administration
General admission tickets are not required for either ceremony. Both ceremonies will be streamed live at indwes.edu/events/commencement/webcast.
