Launch Your Aviation Career At IWU

We know flight training can be expensive and comes with limited options. In many cases, students earn their flight certificates but not a degree.

Now, students can be granted college credits for their existing FAA Flight Certificates and be ready sooner to meet the demand for pilot shortages in the coming years.

Online Learning

Students can complete their coursework online while receiving hands-on flight training at a local partner flight school—no relocation required.

On-Campus Learning

Students can experience on-campus learning at IWU's Marion, IN campus while completing convenient flight training at nearby aviation facilities, allowing them to pursue their degree and flight experience in one place.

At IWU, we partner with select FAA Part 141 approved flight schools to offer flexible, faith-based aviation degrees. Now students can earn their associate and bachelor’s degrees online from a regionally accredited university, graduating with the pilot certificates and college education to pursue their aviation career goals.

  • Flight courses are taken early in the programs – students build hours and experience while they finish their degree
  • Students graduate with:
    • FAA Commercial Certificate with a Single or Multi-Engine Land Class Rating
    • FAA Instrument Rating
    • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (elective)
    • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher (Associate in Aviation Operations)
    • An associate or bachelor’s degree from IWU
