Marion, Ind. (Jan. 8, 2026) — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) will host its annual MLK Celebration on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026. The event will center on the theme “Unshaken Faith” and the encouragement of 2 Corinthians 4:16–18: “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
The day will include a documentary screening and Q&A at IWU’s Globe Theatre, followed by an evening MLK Celebration Program in the Barnes Student Center Commons featuring special guest Rasool Berry.
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Barnes Student Center – Commons

“Dr. King’s legacy continues to call us toward courageous leadership rooted in conviction and compassion,” said Executive Vice President and Chief People and Culture Officer Karen Dowling, Ph.D. “This year’s theme, Unshaken Faith, invites our community to fix our eyes on what lasts, remembering that perseverance can form us, unite us, and move us closer to the goals of the Gospel.”
IWU’s 2026 MLK Celebration emphasizes steadfast hope and spiritual resilience, reflecting the message of 2 Corinthians 4:16–18 and encouraging IWU and its surrounding community to seek the eternal, practice endurance, and live out faith in ways that strengthen belonging and foster courageous service.
