Associate to MBA

 

Overview

Students in the Associate to Master of Business Administration program design solutions and strategies for complex business problems and opportunities, and integrate critical analysis with disciplines such as management, accounting, finance, and economics. They will evaluate personal management capabilities and design a plan for growth. Students will synthesize ethical standards in decision­making and strategy development, create appropriate communication strategies to achieve organizational goals, and integrate a biblical framework that guides interactions within the business environment and workplace.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  • Design solutions and strategies for complex business problems and opportunities.
  • Evaluate personal leadership capabilities and design a plan for self­improvement and continual growth.
  • Integrate critical analysis with business administration disciplines such as management, accounting, finance and economics to ensure mission success.
  • Synthesize ethical standards in decision­making and strategy development.
  • Create appropriate communication strategies to achieve organization goals.
  • Integrate a biblical framework that guides interactions with business.

The curriculum will be completed in the order established by Indiana Wesleyan University. Indiana Wesleyan University reserves the right to modify the curriculum and locations offered as necessary.

The total cost of the program, including tuition, books, and fees, will be determined prior to your enrollment. The cost will be divided into several payments spread over the course of the program. Course textbooks will be shipped to you before each course begins. The cost of books increases for shipments outside of the 48 contiguous United States.

The total credit hours and per-credit-hour costs listed above are effective for the core program. For prerequisite or other required courses if applicable, students will need to pay for appropriate tuition, books, and any additional fees. Costs may change if you withdraw from the program and restart in a future program at a later date.

Requirements

Admission Requirements

  1. An associate’s degree from a college or university accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (USDoE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Degrees must be verified on original transcripts sent directly by the institution to Indiana Wesleyan University.
  2. An undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher from the associate degree granting institution. If an applicant's GPA is below 3.0, the student may be admitted on a probationary basis, as established by the guidelines of the DeVoe School of Business.

Program Requirements

  1. Before starting the graduate MBA courses, students must complete an undergraduate bridge program of 24 credits hours.
  2. A grade of "B" or higher must be earned in the bridge courses.
  3. Students may not transfer undergraduate credits earned from other institutions.
  4. Students may elect to transfer out of AS-MBA into other IWU undergraduate programs. Classes taken in the AS-MBA can apply toward a program of study in another program as appropriate, if the minimum grade requirement for that program has been meet.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must have completed all of the following:

  1. All credits required in the MBA curriculum sequence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum grade of “C” in each course. A grade of "C-" or below will require the course to be repeated.
  2. Overall GPA of 3.0 in all IWU graduate work.
  3. Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.

Transfer Policy

  1. Students may not transfer into the program undergraduate credits earned from other programs.
  2. Students may elect to transfer out of Associate - MBA into the traditional BSBA or BSM programs. Credits earned in the Associate - MBA may be counted as credits earned in other programs as defined by the requirements of that program. Credits earned as part of the Associate - MBA program that are not part of the course of study for the selected program may potentially be counted as elective credits.
