About the Program

The Master of Arts degree with a major in Organizational Leadership will provide graduates with the fundamental knowledge of leadership theory and skills to practice leadership in organizations. The program targets students from all organizations, including business, nonprofit organizations, government, military, and ministries. Upon completion of the program students should be able to:

  • Synthesize historical and contemporary leadership theories to guide the effective practice of organizational leadership.
  • Synthesize the foundational concepts of authenticity, wisdom, followership, stewardship, and faith integration as part of a character-based and ethical practice of organizational leadership.
  • Analyze the sources and consequences of organizational problems, as well as appropriate interventions, to help the organization achieve its goals.
  • Evaluate the change and learning needs of an organization to implement a strategic plan and redirect an organization toward its goals.
  • Evaluate the competencies required of leaders to lead effectively in the contemporary multicultural and global contexts.

Participants will integrate and deliberate on the concepts critical to understanding each of these areas. Competency will be demonstrated in each area as evidenced through projects implemented in either the workplace or a community-based organization, including thoughtful discussions and course papers. Graduates will be prepared to analyze and report on organizational and leadership issues and evaluate organizational performance.
