Biography
Dr. Richard Hooker is a clinical counselor with over 30 years of clinical experience. He has served as a faculty member in Addictions Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University since 2010. Dr. Hooker served as a clinical supervisor overseas for 7½ years supporting the Army family.
Interests
Dr. Hooker and his students are involved in applied research studies designed to assist organizations to improve clinical performance and outcomes. These include:
- Indiana Collegiate Action Network grant with funding from Indiana Department of Mental Health and Addiction Mini-Grant: Evaluation and Assessment of Student Wellness (October 1, 2021-June 30, 2022).
- Indiana Recovery Network Research Incentives Grant (September 30, 2021-January 31, 2022)
- Indiana Recovery Hubs: Proof of Concept (2021-2022)
- Best Practices in Teaching College Students with a Mental Health Disorder (2021)
