Biography
Dr. Phyllis Rowland is Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in the School of Health Sciences at Indiana Wesleyan University. She has a Master’s of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2005) where she completed a research project contrasting methods of hamstring stretching in children with cerebral palsy. Her PhD in Pediatric Science was obtained from Rocky Mountain University of Health Sciences in 2016, where she studied the relationship between balance and motor skills in children with Developmental Coordination Disorder. She is board certified in Pediatrics through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as well as a Certified Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association.
Dr. Rowland has experience as an administrator, supervisor, and consultant for therapists in school practice and early intervention services. She is certified as a pediatric clinician through the Neurodevelopmental Treatment Association. Her primary clinical and research interests are in pediatrics and the neurophysiological development of infants and young children.
