Donald Osborn

Dr. Donald Osborn (Dr. Oz) is ordained as a minister in the Christian Church/Church of Christ, and has served as Youth and Senior Minister. He has been involved in ministry and counseling for over three decades in the areas of addiction, mental health and martial and family therapy. He has professional experience as a Psychiatric Case Manager, Clinical Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, and Medical Administrative Officer in community mental health and government.

His research publications are in the areas of treatment, scope of practice, ethics, supervision, program administration, policy development, and curriculum in higher education. He has also been sought after as a national consultant and speaker to corporations, schools, state and federal government agencies, churches and conferences.

He is certified as a National Board Certified Counselor, Master Addiction Counselor, and Nationally Certified Psychologist. He hold memberships in the Indiana Association of Addiction Professionals (IAAP),the National Association of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselors (NAADAC),the American Counseling Association (ACA), The Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), the Indiana Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (IAMFT), the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) of which he is a Clinical Member. He also holds licenses in Clinical Addictions, Mental Health, Clinical Social Work and Marital/Family Therapy in Indiana.

Professor Osborn has served as the National President of NAADAC, and two terms as Regional Vice President. He is currently the NAADAC Immediate Past President, and Past Chairman of the National Addiction Studies and Standards Accreditation Committee (NASAC). He has also served as a member of the American Society of Addictions Medicine's (ASAM) Diagnostic and Addiction Treatment Criteria Committee. In 2011 Professor Osborn was selected to lead the first US delegation of addiction and mental health treatment professionals and educators to Cuba, to review treatment facilities and practices. In 2014 Dr. Osborn was appointed to the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensure Board (BHHSLB). In 2016 Dr. Osborn became the Chair and President of the Indiana (BHHSLB).
