Congratulations, graduate! You've reached a significant milestone, and we are immensely proud of your accomplishments.
As you step into this new chapter, let this be your guide to what comes next.
What is a Conferral Date?
At IWU, your conferral date is the official date your degree is awarded after all academic requirements have been completed and verified. Even if you participate in an earlier commencement ceremony, your degree is not considered officially granted until this conferral date is posted by the Registrar’s Office. This is the date that appears on your transcript and diploma and is used for employment, licensure, and verification of graduation. What should I do to prepare for receiving my diploma?
You can confirm your Conferral Date by checking your unofficial transcript in the myIWU Self-Service portal
Student Accounts – Will let you know if you have any outstanding balances that would prevent you from receiving your diploma
Financial Aid - Learn about when your loans will come due so you can be prepared to repay them
Check your unofficial transcript to ensure your degree has been conferred.
*Note: If you need official transcripts for your career or to continue your education, you can order those now.
You should receive a text and an email within 10 days of your Conferral Date containing your digital diploma. The digital diploma is sent as a 'preview' of what your actual, physical diploma will contain.
When you receive the digital diploma, be sure to check your address and name for any final revisions/updates.
