Celebrating Our ISP Graduates

Celebrate your achievement with a special gradutation event designed for IWU's International Students! This event is designed for graduates in the International Student Programs (ISP) to honor your accomplishments.

Graduates will be invited to attend during a designated time window to help create a smooth experience. However, the event is flexible, and you are welcome to move through each area at your own pace.

The celebration takes place at the Barnes Student Center on IWU's Marion, Indiana campus.

What to Expect

The ISP Graduation Celebration is a unique, personalized, graduate-focused event designed to provide all the meaningful elements of a traditional ceremony in a more flexible format. During your scheduled time, you will have the opportunity to walk across the stage, hear your name announced, take photos, and celebrate alongside faculty, staff, administrators, and your fellow graduates.
Arrive and Check-In

Get your name card to begin your celebration.

ISP graduates will check-in in the Henry West Banquet Room located within the Barnes Student Center.

  • Walk across the stage and receive your diploma cover
  • Be photographed by a professional photographer

Family and guests are welcome to attend and will be guided to seating while you prepare to cross the stage. *Note: Participation in the stage experience requires full cap and gown attire.

Capture memories with professional photos and themed backdrops.

  • Professional photography as you cross the stage
  • Photo backdrop stations throughout the Barnes Student Center

Celebrate with us at a reception in the Piazza at Barnes Student Center, featuring:

  • Light refreshments and additional photo opportunities
  • Spend time with the people who supported your journey by meeting IWU faculty and staff
  • Be sure to connect with the Alumni Association and learn about next steps

You will be assigned a recommended arrival window to help manage the flow of the event.
Graduates who wish to walk the stage or take formal photos should wear their cap and gown. This is required for stage participation and certain photo opportunities.
Yes! Family and guests are welcome to join you.
The ISP Graduation Celebration does not follow a traditional ceremony format with a processional or long program. Instead, it offers a more flexible, personalized celebration where you’ll still experience the most important moments—walking across the stage, hearing your name read, and celebrating with those who matter most.
Yes. Professional photography will be provided during the stage experience. Additional photo opportunities (using your personal device) will be available throughout the event.
Yes. A reception with light refreshments will be provided during the event so you can celebrate with fellow graduates, faculty, and guests. This reception will be located in the Piazza inside the Barnes Student Center.
