ABSTRACT, DEEP IDEAS BROUGHT TO LIFE
A Mathematics degree will prepare you for further study in graduate school or for occupations in business, industry, and government where clear thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical maturity are valued. Your studies will emphasize the integration of faith and learning, integrity, critical thinking, discipline, communication, and technology skills.
IWU's Bachelor of Science with a major in Mathematics program from the Division of Mathematics and Computer Information Sciences differs from the Math Education and Math Interdisciplinary programs in a couple of ways. Since it prepares you for the possibility of graduate studies, it requires some classes at a more rigorous academic level. It also has a research requirement that involves an experience with a more focused mathematical topic while working closely with a professor. Students may also choose to earn an Associate of Science degree for quick entry into the workforce and a foundation for further education, or to minor in Mathematics or Statistics as a supplement to another IWU major.
The IWU Math department is a supportive, Christ-centered community dedicated to cultivating a premier experience in and out of the classroom. If you are looking to be challenged in understanding abstract, deep ideas in mathematics, then we invite you to consider majoring in Mathematics at Indiana Wesleyan University.
