The Pastoral Ministry specialization was designed in cooperation with The Wesleyan Church as a way for Wesleyans to complete all of the educational requirements for ordination in a Master of Arts program (assuming a student has completed the psychology and sociology requirements in their undergraduate work). This specialization is unique among Wesley Seminary’s Master of Arts in Ministry programs and cannot be obtained in the Master of Divinity (as the MDIV also completes all of the educational requirements for ordination). The specialization adds six additional credits and substitutes courses for part of the Master of Arts core. Due to the increased length, students are also able to transfer in additional course credit, with up to 15 hours of transfer credit possible. The program will begin with a one-week intensive in Marion, IN, for the course Pastor, Church, and World and orientation.
