Master of Theological Studies Online Program
The Master of Theological Studies (MTS) program engages students in rigorous study of the subdisciplines of theology: Biblical studies, church history, systematic theology, ethics, practical theology, and spiritual formation. The purpose is to give focus to the full scope of Christian theology so that students will have breadth and depth in theological study preparing them for further graduate studies and teaching ministries.
Theology - 9 credits
Elective with a THEO or CHST prefix – 3 credits
Biblical Studies - 9 credits
Elective with a BIBL prefix – 3 credits
Practical Theology - 6 credits
Select one of the following:
MISS500: Cultural Contexts of Ministry – 3 credits
MISS510: Cultural Anthropology – 3 credits
Elective with a MISS prefix – 3 credits
Spiritual Formation - 6 credits
Languages – 6 credits
(selected based on research topic)
Electives - 6 credits
Each student will specialize in a particular sub-discipline of theology by taking 6 additional hours in THEO, CHST, BIBL (in OT or NT focus), SPIR or areas in practical ministry.
Research Course + Thesis - 6 credits
*If a student has had equivalent courses in their undergraduate program or by transfer from another recognized institution, they may take an upper level course to satisfy program requirements.
