Josh and Becca have two daughters at IWU this fall and two younger boys at home. They met at IWU and have served in missions and ministry since graduation. They currently live in Swayzee, Indiana, and love working with the Parent Council on events like this prayer gathering. They look forward to meeting you all virtually and praying together!

Danny serves as a senior pastor; Amber is an assistant principal and an IWU alum. They have two graduates and two more coming soon, as well as an incoming freshman this fall and one daughter left at home. They love serving in this way and welcoming you to gather and pray.

Steve and Joy care deeply about healthy marriages, discipleship, and IWU. Their son Elijah is a Music Education major active in Marching Band, Chorale, Brass Quintet, Jazz Band, and Wind Ensemble. They appreciate IWU’s focus on spiritual formation and community, and they are excited to host you for this prayer gathering!

Adam and Christy are both IWU alumni. Christy serves as the Lead Pastor at City Life Church, and Adam is the Senior Ministry Director at Mel Trotter Ministries. Their son Jude is an auto mechanic pursuing his ASE certification, and Elijah will begin at IWU this fall as a Computer Engineering major while participating in the Run Club. They look forward to welcoming you to City Life Church for this special time of prayer.

Alex and Chiara met while students at Indiana Wesleyan in the fall of 2001. They were married the following fall with Alex going on to graduate with an Elementary Education degree in 2004. The Ruffers headed to Chiara‘s hometown of Big Flats, New York where Alex was, in his words, “hijacked” by the Holy Spirit to work with the children and youth in their home church (the Big Flats Wesleyan). Within six months, he was asked to join the staff full-time where he worked for eight more years before accepting the lead pastor position in 2013 when the current pastor retired. Alex and Chiara have four children with the second oldest, Elena, heading into her sophomore year at IWU and majoring in, full circle, Elementary Education! The Ruffers are honored to host this gathering for connection and prayer on behalf of the larger Indiana Wesleyan University family.

Josh and Melissa make their home in Howe, In. Josh is a graduate of IWU’s online program. They have an incoming Sophomore in the Nursing program and a high school senior considering IWU for her Bio Chem degree. Every time they visit IWU they are left with a feeling of hope , happiness, and community. They hope to spread that feeling to “local” IWU parents and alumni through the family prayer gathering.

Jeff and Nancy Buterbaugh have raised and launched five sons. Their only daughter is starting her second year at IWU. They have seen all their children grow and profit so much by the investments of other churches and ministries, and they have a burden to see young adults grow spiritually during these critical years. They are extremely grateful for the vision that IWU has for spiritual formation.

David and Michele are both legacy alumni at IWU and have a heart to point their children and family toward the Lord. They are invested in their church and community with a love for adoption and restoration of relationships. They are excited to host and pray with and for you all!
