Marion, Ind. (Oct. 8, 2026) — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is expanding its Fast Forward degree offerings with a new 90-credit-hour bachelor’s degree in human services leadership with a specialization in data analytics. The fully online program equips students to lead within human services agencies, government organizations, and nonprofits by combining a foundation in human services with practical skills in data analysis, program evaluation, and organizational leadership.
As human services organizations face increasing expectations to demonstrate outcomes and use resources effectively, professionals who understand both the people they serve and the data behind their programs are increasingly valuable. IWU’s new program is designed to help graduates bridge those areas, equipping them to evaluate services, communicate findings, and use data to strengthen programs and better serve their communities.
Unlike a general data analytics degree, the program places data skills within the context of human services leadership. Students learn to apply analytics to challenges such as measuring client outcomes, evaluating program effectiveness, and reporting results to funders and stakeholders. Coursework also explores data ethics, including the responsible use of client information and the role of data in advocating for the people and communities human service organizations serve.
"This program reflects IWU's commitment to preparing servant leaders who make a measurable difference in their communities. As human services organizations increasingly need professionals who can both care deeply for people and demonstrate the impact of that care through data, we're equipping graduates to lead with both compassion and competence." Dr. Sharon Loza, Program Director.
The degree is part of IWU’s Fast Forward portfolio of 90-credit bachelor’s degrees, an innovative alternative to the traditional 120-credit model. Rather than compressing a traditional degree into a heavier schedule, Fast Forward programs use intentionally designed curricula focused on essential learning outcomes, career preparation, and applied experience. The streamlined structure allows students to complete their bachelor’s degree sooner at a lower total tuition cost without requiring transfer credits or summer courses.
Delivered 100% online, Fast Forward programs are designed to provide flexibility for students balancing education with work, family, and other commitments. Programs incorporate career-ready experiences, stackable credentials, applied projects, and evolving technology while integrating leadership, ethics, and communications within a Christ-centered educational experience.
Through the Bachelor in Human Services Leadership program, students will also learn to integrate biblical perspectives into care for oppressed or disadvantaged populations, assess and evaluate social services, advocate for positive social change, and develop management plans that use organizational resources to the benefit of the communities they serve.
