Indiana Wesleyan University Launches 90-Credit Bachelor of Applied AI Analytics to Prepare Graduates for AI-Driven Careers

Marion, Ind. (Jul. 7, 2026) — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is expanding its portfolio of accelerated, 90-credit undergraduate degrees with the launch of a new Bachelor of Applied AI Analytics designed to prepare students to lead ethically in practical application with virtuous frameworks for an AI-enabled workforce. The fully online program integrates artificial intelligence, data analytics, and human-centered decision-making to meet growing employer demand across multiple industries.

The Bachelor of Applied AI Analytics equips students to evaluate, apply, and oversee emerging AI technologies—including generative AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics—while balancing innovation with ethical reasoning and human judgment. Graduates are prepared to apply AI tools to real-world business challenges in fields such as marketing, human resources, and supply chain and logistics.

"AI skills are in high demand and provide flexibility in an evolving market,” said Chair for the Division of Technology Clark Cully, Ph.D., who previously was the chief data officer for the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as the military’s top official for AI strategy. In addition to 14 years at the Pentagon leading nuclear, cyber, innovation, and emerging technology initiatives, Cully served with the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, NATO Headquarters in Afghanistan, the Department of Energy, and the National Academy of Sciences.

“This accelerated program,” he said, “is designed to get graduates into the field sooner, where they can deliver clear, measurable impact. Students will master big data, machine learning, and AI-enabled tools to make faster, smarter decisions and transform their organization."

Designed for working adults and transfer students, the 90-credit program offers a streamlined roadmap to degree completion while maintaining academic rigor and practical application. Students gain hands-on experience using AI tools to analyze data, automate workflows, and support strategic decision-making, skills increasingly sought across industries.

Across all pathways, coursework emphasizes ethical AI practices, prompt engineering, data interpretation, and human oversight, ensuring graduates are prepared to guide responsible AI adoption within organizations. Program specializations include:

  • Marketing – leveraging AI to optimize campaigns, customer insights, content creation, and customer relationship management strategies.
  • Human Resources – applying AI and analytics to recruiting, workforce planning, engagement, and performance management.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics – using predictive analytics and automation to improve forecasting, logistics, and operational resilience.

“At Indiana Wesleyan University, Christian faith and innovation are essential components of education,” said Jon Kulaga, president of IWU, Ph.D. “The Applied AI Analytics degree reflects our belief that emerging technologies should be guided by integrity, wisdom, and care for people. We are preparing students to lead AI initiatives in ways that encourage both technological progress and Christ-centered values.”

By integrating technology with IWU’s Christ-centered mission, the program develops leaders who combine technical competence with integrity, critical thinking, and compassion.

Enrollment for the Bachelor of Applied AI Analytics is now open.
