Indiana Wesleyan University President to Read at National “America Reads the Bible” Event

Marion, Ind. (Apr. 23, 2026) — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) President Jon Kulaga, Ph.D., will participate in the national “America Reads the Bible” event on April 25 at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.

The weeklong event, which began April 19 and continues through April 25, 2026, brings together Americans from across the country to read the Bible cover to cover, from Genesis to Revelation.

Hosted by Christians Engaged, Great American Media and more than 100 ministry partners, the event will be livestreamed daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Great American Pure Flix following an opening celebration. Participants represent all 50 states and include public figures and everyday Americans reading Scripture in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States.

“Revelation 1:3, one of the verses I will be reading live, says, ‘Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near,’” Kulaga said. “I am honored to represent Indiana Wesleyan University and share the Word of God with the nation, as a city on a hill that cannot be hidden.”

Kulaga is scheduled to read from 2 John through Revelation 1 from 7 to 8 p.m. April 25 during the final hours of the event.

He will join nearly 500 Christian leaders, public officials and media voices, including Ben Carson, Kathy Ireland, Eric Metaxas, Colton Dixon and Danny Gokey.

“We are honored to be represented on a national stage as leaders in Christian education and ministry,” said Penny Callaway, executive director of government and strategic relations at IWU. “Through Dr. Kulaga, IWU has the opportunity to be salt and light to a world in need of truth grounded in Scripture.”
