Indiana Wesleyan University evolves online higher education with ‘Fast Forward’ 90-hour degree programs

Indianapolis, Ind. (Apr. 17, 2026) — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU), a national leader in online degree completion for nearly 40 years, today announced its “Fast Forward” 90-credit online degree programs, an emerging alternative to traditional 120-credit programs that reimagines how students gain career-ready skills through intentional, outcomes-focused learning. The university is launching multiple industry-relevant 90-credit bachelor’s degrees, with several already open for enrollment and additional programs set to roll out in summer and fall 2026, with continued expansion planned in the years ahead, offering students both depth and breadth across high-demand fields.

Designed for today’s learners, Fast Forward programs span business, education, and artificial intelligence and feature a purpose-built curriculum that is affordable, efficient, and focused on career readiness. Enrollment is now open for IWU’s Bachelor of Applied AI Analytics, with specializations in human resources, supply chain and logistics, and marketing, as well as Bachelor of Education degrees in middle school science, secondary English language arts, and secondary mathematics.

“As a pioneer in online education, IWU is proud to launch Fast Forward degree programs that expand access and accelerate opportunity for students,” said Jon Kulaga, Ph.D., president of IWU. “Our fast forward 90-hour degrees are both rooted and relevant. Rooted in our commitment to Christ-centered education, these programs develop students in character, scholarship, and leadership while remaining relevant to the rapidly changing workforce.”

Fast Forward programs are designed to be both accelerated and affordable, offering flexible pathways for students at different stages of life, including recent high school graduates, working adults, and those exploring college options. This model reduces financial barriers while maintaining academic quality and rigor, providing a clear pathway to career advancement and post-graduate success. Programs are intentionally designed around high-demand career fields and evolving workforce needs, ensuring graduates are equipped with skills employers are actively seeking.

In addition to core coursework, Fast Forward programs include stackable certificate credentials, micro-credentials, and applied learning experiences. Certificates in areas such as education, applied business functions, and AI foundations are integrated throughout the curriculum. Students also build professional portfolios through virtual internships and applied projects developed in collaboration with employer partners. Technology and AI-informed learning are integrated across programs, preparing graduates for an increasingly AI-driven workforce.

IWU’s Bachelor of Applied AI Analytics prepares students to apply artificial intelligence and data analytics in real-world business settings. The program emphasizes practical application, equipping students to improve decision-making, automate processes, and enhance organizational performance. While delivered fully online, the program includes personalized support through curriculum advisors, peer engagement, and faculty interaction.
