MARION, Ind. (February 24, 2026) — Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) announces that seasoned White House correspondent Greg Clugston will join the faculty of the Division of Modern Language, Literature & Communication beginning July 1, 2026.
Clugston brings more than three decades of national reporting experience to IWU’s growing communication program. As White House correspondent for the Salem Radio Network, his daily reports are heard on more than 2,000 stations nationwide. Now in his 30th year covering the presidency, Clugston has reported from the Oval Office, Camp David, and Air Force One, as well as from Capitol Hill, the Pentagon, and the Supreme Court.
At IWU, Clugston will teach audio and broadcast courses, equipping students to master storytelling across relevant media. From live radio reporting to digital journalism and multimedia production, he will help students discern how to tell stories faithfully, accurately, and with integrity.
“Greg’s experience at the highest levels of national journalism will bring immediate depth and credibility to our broadcast and web-based journalism outlets,” said Brian Maxwell, Ph.D., dean of the School of Arts and Humanities. “His ability to report balanced news while maintaining Christian ethics makes him a standout in the industry and an extraordinary fit for IWU.”
Clugston’s distinguished career includes interviews with presidents, vice presidents, first and second ladies, administration officials, and lawmakers. He has covered presidential inaugurations and political conventions and anchors major national broadcasts such as State of the Union addresses and Election Night coverage. His work has appeared across radio and television platforms including SiriusXM’s POTUS channel, PBS’s White House Chronicle, the Moody and Salem Radio Networks, and Middle East Broadcasting Networks. He has written for Christianity Today, and his political year-in-review poems have been published by Time, POLITICO, USA Today, and The Washington Times.
Beyond the classroom, Clugston will serve as an advisor to Amplify Media, IWU’s student-led media initiative, mentoring students as they develop professional-level content across broadcast and digital platforms. His leadership will strengthen IWU’s commitment to producing graduates who are prepared to engage culture with clarity, courage, and conviction.
“Returning to a university setting allows me to share my practical experience in Washington, D.C., with the next generation of media professionals,” Clugston said. “There’s a critical need to equip students with the skills and knowledge to effectively navigate today’s challenging and fast-moving media environment. I look forward to partnering with Indiana Wesleyan University in preparing students to be effective communicators and trustworthy professionals who pursue excellence through faith, honesty, and integrity.”
Clugston graduated from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan, with bachelor’s degrees in communication and English, and obtained his master’s in journalism from Michigan State University.
