Dr. Richard E. Clark is an ordained deacon in the Global Methodist Church and a professor at Indiana Wesleyan University’s Wesley Seminary. He holds a Master of Arts in Theology, with a concentration in Philosophy of Religion, and a Graduate Certificate in Counseling Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned his PhD in Historical and Systematic Theology from the University of Manchester through Nazarene Theological College.
Dr. Clark's scholarly interests in systematic theology center on soteriology, particularly Arminian retrieval theology. His work in philosophy focuses on the philosophy of religion, Christian apologetics, and philosophical theology. He is an Associate Fellow in Theology with the Manchester Wesley Research Centre and a Senior John Wesley Fellow with A Foundation for Theological Education. He is a graduate member of the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Science. He is also an active contributor to the Wesleyan Theological Society and the Evangelical Theological Society and has been interviewed on theology and Christian thought by popular media platforms.
Originally from the foothills of North Carolina, Dr. Clark enjoys life and ministry alongside his wife, Lydia, and their son, Gabriel. He is passionate about helping students think deeply about the Christian faith while equipping them to serve the Church faithfully. He especially enjoys engaging students in thoughtful conversations about theology, philosophy, and the life of faith.
