Misty Emmons

Dr. Misty Emmons serves as the Dean of the Division of Nursing in the School of Integrated Health. A registered nurse and nurse practitioner with experience in both clinical practice and higher education, Dr. Emmons is committed to preparing compassionate, competent nurse leaders.

Dr. Emmons holds undergraduate degrees from Wayne State University and Samford University and graduate degrees from South University and Samford University. She holds a certification as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Misty is passionate about supporting nursing education that provides nurses with the skills to be competent, compassionate leaders in an ever-changing healthcare environment. She is especially interested in holistic, integrative care that seeks to meet the needs of patients through meaningful and intentional care.

Misty is married to Aaron, a fellow NP and headache specialist. Together, they have three children and enjoy traveling as a family.
