Faculty Profile
Dr. Barnes (Meg) has worked in hospital, nursing home, and home care settings, caring for patients in ICU, ER, OB/GYN, medical-surgical units, and pediatrics. She also served as a staff educator and as a supervisor in all three settings. Meg left full-time clinical practice in June 2009 to teach full-time in the RNBSN program at IWU. She completed a post-master’s certificate as a PMHNP at IWU in 2018. Currently, she serves as a professor in IWU’s PMHNP Program. In addition to teaching, she is working one day/week as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Meg and her husband, Dan, have been married since 1981. Her husband is a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene. They have two adult children and one grandchild.
