Faculty Profile
Dr. Jonathan Morgan is an ordained minister in the Wesleyan Church, and historical theologian specializing in the theology of early Christianity.
I teach classes in systematic theology at Indiana Wesleyan University. That means I help students see how the various beliefs we have about God and his world relate to one another. Every Christian doctrine (or teaching) affects and is affected by all other doctrines. It's a joy to see how the 'pieces' fit together. Though I love teaching and thinking about the beauty and mystery of God in the classroom, I'm a pastor at heart. My calling is to not only teach, but to shepherd my students to a greater love for Jesus Christ, a holy life empowered by the Spirit, and service to the Church that puts others before self. Therefore, my goal for each student is their deep spiritual and theological formation. My hope is that they become vessels through whom God transforms the world.
When I'm not teaching, reading, or writing I enjoy great coffee, working out, and spending time with my wife, Christy, and two kids, Caleb and Phoebe.
