Faculty Profile
Rev. Amber Cook joined the School of Theology and Ministry in 2025. She has served The Wesleyan Church as a lead pastor, a Global Partners missionary, a Clergy Education Director and more. She is also a sought-after speaker and workshop leader.
Prof Cook brings a heart for both God’s global mission and local church ministry to her work with students. Some of her areas of focus include intercultural ministry, church leadership, and preaching. She also coordinates partnerships and creates opportunities for the IWU community to engage in short-term global mission experiences.
Before joining IWU, Amber served nearly nine years as lead pastor of Grace Fellowship Wesleyan Church in Princeton, Indiana. She also held leadership roles within the Indiana South District of The Wesleyan Church, including Equip Director, District Secretary, and District Youth President. Earlier in her ministry, she spent four years as a Global Partners missionary in New Zealand and more than a decade in youth ministry.
Outside of her professional work, Amber enjoys sharing life with her husband and their Doberman Pinscher, cheering on the band Disciple, practicing dip-pen calligraphy, and celebrating her lifelong love of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
