A World-class Fitness Facility

The 117,500-square foot Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) is IWU's primary site for health education and fitness on campus.

All recreational and training equipment in these areas is accessible to IWU students, staff, and faculty members, as well as to a limited number of community members each year.

Intramural Activity Center

A large, multipurpose area comprising three full-sized basketball courts. This area is available for basketball, indoor volleyball, badminton, ultimate Frisbee, and soccer

Indoor Climbing Wall

The climbing wall is 25-feet high and offers six changeable courses with varying degrees of difficulty for all levels of climbers

Community Day Pass & Term Memberships

We have a limited number of paid 'term' memberships and day passes available to community members. 

Community memberships and day passes grant access to the full RWC facility during hours of operation for community members (i.e. indoor track, weight rooms, aquatics, etc.).

Full facility, community memberships are for the calendar year (January 1 - December 31.)*

* All memberships expire on Dec. 31 st of the calendar year of purchase. Memberships must be renewed in the new calendar year to remain an active community membership pass.

* Primary applicants for a pass or membership must be 18 years of age or older. A legal guardian/parent must be present at all times with dependents under the age of the 18 years when in the RWC.

** Family memberships include Applicant and up to four (4) other immediate family members. “Immediate family” means applicant, his/her spouse and dependent children by birth, adoption, or marriage.

Community Membership FAQs

Your Part...

  1. Download, and complete the Membership Application.
  2. Download, and complete Liability Release Form for each individual on application.
  3. Email completed application and release forms to campusrec@indwes.edu, or drop off at the front desk.

Our Part...

  • Application and release forms will then be reviewed by RWC staff.
  • RWC staff will reach out via phone and/or email to share the review decision.

Payment of Membership Fees & I.D. Photos

  • For approved applications, RWC staff will arrange to collect full membership fees for the period indicated on application, as well as schedule a time for primary member and family (if family pass) to come to RWC to take ID photos.
    • Members may come to front desk of RWC to have ID photo taken and ID printed by front desk worker.

Renewal process in a new calendar year:

  1. Email Membership Application to campusrec@indwes.edu, or drop off at front desk (For 2026 only.)
  2. Submit a new Release Form for each member on your application to campusrec@indwes.edu or front desk (Required each year)
  3. Submit membership fees (Required each year)

Renewal in the current calendar year (day pass, monthly membership, and 6-month membership):

  1. Visit front desk or contact campusrec@indwes.edu requesting renewal
  2. Submit membership fees
  • Community memberships do not auto renew.
    • However, day passes may be renewed by request of community member.
  • To renew in the current calendar year, members may renew at the front desk of the RWC or via phone.
  • To renew in a new calendar year, renewals may be processed via phone, provided updated release of liability forms for each member on the application are provided to campusrec@indwes.edu.

We are pleased to offer discount opportunities to the following populations. Only one discount can be applied to an application for membership.

Family Memberships include the applicant and up to four (4) other immediate family members.

  • “Immediate family” means applicant, his/her spouse, and dependent children by birth, adoption, or marriage.
    • Dependent children 18 years of age, or older must complete an application of their own and include a Liability Release Form.
      • This (Dependent 18+) application may be submitted along with the primary applicant’s application to be included in the family membership rate for which the primary applicant is applying.
  • Release of Liability forms must be submitted for the primary applicant and (if a family membership) each member listed on the application.
  • Release Forms must be submitted with application in order for application to be reviewed.
    • Applications submitted without Release Forms will not be approved for membership.
  • Release Forms must be resubmitted each calendar year for each member renewing membership.
