The Center for Academic Thriving is dedicated to helping every student succeed academically, socially, and personally throughout their college journey. From the moment students arrive on campus, they are supported through intentional advising, structured first-year programming, and ongoing academic resources designed to help them navigate college with confidence.
Students begin their college experience with guidance that helps them transition smoothly into campus life and academic expectations. Through first-year advising and the First-Year Experience program, students build early connections with peers and faculty while developing the skills needed for success. Advisors also provide ongoing support with course planning, registration, and academic policies, helping students navigate their first year with clarity and confidence.
Support continues throughout the college journey with resources designed to strengthen academic performance and build confidence. Students have access to academic coaching, tutoring, and academic support classes—many of which are offered through the Learning Center—helping them develop essential skills such as time management, study strategies, and effective learning habits. Additional support in writing, research, and subject-specific areas helps students engage more deeply with their coursework.
The Center plays an active role in connecting students to the people and resources that support their growth. Through the use of Thrive360, the university’s student care platform, and collaboration across campus, students are connected to timely guidance, encouragement, and support when it is needed most. One-on-one meetings, outreach efforts, and student success initiatives help ensure students remain engaged, supported, and on track throughout their college experience.
The Learning Center serves as a central hub for academic support, providing a collaborative environment where students can strengthen their skills and reach their full potential. Through peer tutoring, academic coaching, and structured study opportunities, students are equipped to think critically, develop independence in their learning, and succeed with confidence.
In addition to academic support, the Center offers a welcoming space where students can study, connect, and find encouragement. Whether working independently or alongside peers, students have access to an environment that fosters both academic focus and a sense of belonging.
