Please join us in celebrating Tim Veenstra, our youth worker for the month of February!
Tim was a junior in high school when he began to have a strong sense of a call into ministry. This was prompted by a specific phone call from his grandfather that affirmed him of this calling. He is now in his eighth year of full time youth ministry work. He quickly discovered his own affirmation with working with youth as he says, “I love the phase of life they are in.” Tim has recently stepped into a teaching pastor role in his church on Sunday’s, yet still senses the importance of working with students.
A highlight for Tim has been the ability to see the effects of long-term investment in student’s lives. He says that seeing students becoming volunteers in the youth or one day becoming pastors, missionaries, and in other leadership positions, is one of the most fun things to be a part of.
His favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 3:17 and his favorite chapter in the Bible is Romans 8.
Tim enjoys playing volleyball, basketball, and spikeball.
He is an MSU fan along with the Indiana Pacers and the Golden State Warriors.
His favorite movie is the old school Willy Wonka or Dan in Real Life. His favorite TV show is the Office or the Walking Dead.
