Please join us in celebrating Spencer Olson, our youth worker for the month of January!
He has been working in youth ministry since 2011. He started in middle school ministry and then transitioned to high school pastor at Christ Community Church in Rochester, Minnesota. He received his Call shortly after graduating from high school. He wrestled with becoming a second generation pastor, but at a camp in Glendo Wyoming, God grabbed ahold of his life. Even though Spencer felt God placing youth ministry on his heart, he still resisted. Spencer even had an opportunity to preach as a student in high school. He then had aspirations to join the military, yet knew that he was called into ministry.
Spencer's favorite part of being in youth ministry is seeing students grasp their faith. At that moment, students accomplish something outside of themselves, and yet take into their own hands this new step of faith.
His favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 9:27, which is a great reminder of spiritual discipline.
He enjoys playing video games, surfing and working out. His favorite sports team is the Michigan Wolverines…GO BLUE!
His favorite movie is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
Another interesting fact about Spencer is that he once got run over by a car, yet ended up totally fine, for the most part.
