Please join us in celebrating Bradford Rogers, our youth worker for the month of January!
As Bradford was going up, he had a speech impediment that kept him from ever even thinking about preaching. One year while he was at camp, there was someone preaching as he was washing dishes. He heard the Gospel and he responded resulting in complete life change and an overwhelming feeling of His presence. Not long after, he heard the voice of the Lord call him into ministry. This was the most amazing moment of his life.
Since then, Bradford has been involved in youth ministry vocationally for almost five years. Yet, he feels he has always been involved because when he was in high school, he was heavily involved and absolutely loved it. On the contrary, he was not always interested in working with youth. He describes how he just wanted to be a “pastor” until one day when he was assigned to start a youth ministry at a church plant. He describes that experience by saying, “My heart came alive and have seen God do some amazing things. I haven’t left since. My home is in youth ministry.”
A highlight for Bradford was when he has the opportunity to baptize a student in front of her atheist/agnostic parents. He also says how just recently 40+ students responded to the Gospel at a summer camp!
His favorite bible passage is Psalm 71:17-18
He enjoys watching a sports game while eating a big plate of wings!
Hi favorite team is the Baltimore Ravens and he enjoys watching parks and Recreation and the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
A Fun fact about Bradford is that he is a self-proclaimed Chicken Wing Expert and says that his dream job is to have his own Food Network show traveling the world trying different chicken wings. But he loves youth ministry!
