The School of Theology & Ministry's Master of Practical Theology degree is an advanced M.Div. equivalent degree designed to fully prepare students for ministry in the local church.
Students will spend the first two semesters in master's classes on the Marion residential campus in the School of Theology & Ministry housed in the Noggle Christian Ministries building. During that time, they will be instructed and mentored by professors within the School of Theology & Ministry. The school will also work with each student to locate a teaching church that will provide a mutually beneficial environment for both the student and church.
Beginning in the summer of the first year of the master's degree, students will spend the remainder of their time as a resident pastor in a teaching church. Students will continue to interact with one another and their professors via online coursework and campus workshops. This process will allow students to share and process what they learn during their residential experience.
Any person with a bachelor's degree and the required pre-requisite may apply for acceptance. Admittance to the master's program will be based on several criteria including each student's undergraduate GPA and classroom performance. Upon successful completion of both the coursework and residency, students will be awarded a Master of Practical Theology degree.
