PREPARING TO SERVE IN A DIVERSE WORLD
Technological advances are shrinking our world. People and cultures that were once widely separated by geography are now in direct communication and only minutes or hours apart, making the world a more complex and challenging place to live, work, and minister. How well prepared are you?
Indiana Wesleyan University's Bachelor of Science with a major in Intercultural Studies degree will equip you for cross-cultural life, work, and service in an increasingly diverse and culturally enriched world. This is an essential major if you feel called to intercultural church-based Christian service, whether at home or abroad. It is also a strategic choice for anyone considering ministry or a career in foreign service or culturally diverse areas.
As a second major, an Intercultural Studies degree will provide you with vital "passport skills" for traveling to or living in another country and give you a competitive edge in seeking employment in businesses, nonprofit organizations, ministries, and government agencies serving culturally diverse communities. Students may also choose to earn an Associate of Science degree for quick entry into the workforce and a foundation for further education.
If you're ready for an exciting time of learning, stretching, and conviction by the Holy Spirit, then we invite you to major in Intercultural Studies at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Intercultural Studies Minor
The minor in Intercultural Studies is for students planning full-time or short-term missionary service, or for anyone interested in a career or ministry serving in another culture. Students from any of IWU's other majors are welcome, but particularly those who are preparing for intercultural church-based Christian service.
Latin American and Iberian Studies Minor
The minor in Latin American and Iberian Studies is designed to complement the student's primary major and can be tailored to deepen his or her specific cultural knowledge and language skills as a preparation for graduate study or for a career in an increasingly diverse workplace. Students have the opportunity to integrate traditional coursework with internships and/or study abroad experiences in order to apply and appreciate the relevance of course material to their career and the world around them.
