Beckett Hall West (BHW) is the upperclassmen wing of Beckett Hall. It houses 180 sophomores, juniors and seniors. Because it is a mentoring hall, 60 of these residents mentor two of the incoming freshmen living on Eastside.
For those residents who decide against being a formal mentor, BHW offers many opportunities to be involved in other ways. In order to incorporate the mentoring aspect beyond just the mentor/mentee relationship, we seek to promote growth and community in our residents through regular Beckett Hall programs and sister unit events.
"My desire is for the women of Beckett Hall West to realize the beauty with which God has created them; to grow holistically into women of passion, conviction, and wisdom as they live in community here at IWU and as they prepare to serve a world in need of God's truth and love."
While studying at IWU and serving as a student leader I realized my call to work with students through transformational experiences, such as college; thus I began to seek a career in higher education and student development. After two years of post-college Christian evangelism and graduate studies, my husband and I have returned to Indiana Wesleyan. In many ways it feels like we have come home! I could not imagine a better job than to create an environment of spiritual, personal, and professional growth for college students!
