Whether looking for on-campus, summer, or full-time jobs, Indiana Wesleyan University students can rely on Employer Relations Coordinators to help find current openings that match students' interests and needs. The Career Development team walk students through the job search process, help students develop a LinkedIn profile and prepare students for interviews through resume development and practice interview sessions. On Campus Jobs
Indiana Wesleyan University students can build their resume and earn an income through an on-campus student job. Students can apply for available jobs on the Student Employment page and visit Career Development for assistance with their resume, interview preparation, or other job search assistance. Internships
Internships
Students looking for internships locally and nationwide can find help with their search by scheduling an appointment on Handshake at indwes.joinhandshake.com. Our Internship Coordinator helps students form a meaningful connection with organizations and businesses of all sizes. After an initial consultation, students can apply for internship options that meet their individual needs.
PAID Internship Program
Each semester, IWU students have the opportunity to apply for a paid internship at local businesses in Indiana. Interns are paid $11 per hour for up to 20 hours per week through a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. Through this program, interns engage with one another to discuss how to apply knowledge from the classroom to their internships. These internships are offered during the spring, summer and fall. Career Coaching
Unsure which career is a good fit for you? Our coaches are certified in a variety of assessments. At no charge, IWU students can complete the Strong Interest Inventory and meet one-on-one with a career coach to learn how the results could inform career decisions. The inventory aligns with the Occupational Information Network (O*Net), a nationally recognized database with hundreds of occupational options with information on job requirements, workplace values, salary information, and more.
Resume Help
Whether students create a resume for a job, internship or class assignment, the Career Development team is ready to help make that resume stand out. Students can schedule a one-on-one appointment for detailed resume editing and suggestions with a Career Development team member on Handshake at indwes.joinhandshake.com., or stop by the Career Kiosk across from Trader James in the Barnes Student Center for quick resume assistance during our drop-in hours on Monday - Thursday afternoons.
Grad School Preparation
Career Development helps students understand the graduate school application process from searching for schools to getting an acceptance letter. Students can schedule an appointment on Handshake at indwes.joinhandshake.com to tailor their resume or CV for their application, create their statement of purpose and participate in mock interviews to prepare for admissions day. Career Development hosts a Grad School Fair each fall for regional graduate programs to connect with Indiana Wesleyan University students interested in continuing their studies.

Professional Development Course
Career Exploration and Personal Development (LFC 310) is a three-credit-hour course Career Development offers each spring semester. Geared toward sophomores, juniors, and seniors, the course prepares students for life after graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University. The course teaches students to follow their life calling, career goals, and values.

Indiana Wesleyan University hosts a Fall Career and Internship Fair each year where students network with employers, learn about job and internship opportunities, and win fun giveaways. Career Development equips Indiana Wesleyan University students with the vital skill of networking through a variety of on-campus and off-campus opportunities. Employers are hosted at Career Development events that provide students networking opportunities and inform students of available jobs and internships. Employers recruit weekly at the Career Kiosk on campus. Career Development also facilitates off-campus networking opportunities for students through field trips and conferences.
Industry Field Trips
Indiana Wesleyan University believes that experiential learning is key to connecting passions and strengths with career paths. IWU faculty maintain industry relationships via regional field trips that offer students the opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to their respective industries. The Career Development office pursues relationships with employers and industry leaders to create positive connections between the classroom and the workplace.
