Trip Description

This travel class focuses on recognizing child advocacy issues from around the world. You will understand the demographics of poverty and the effects of poverty on children.  You will critically evaluate sociological research related to the causes of poverty, especially child poverty. Multidisciplinary approaches to advocacy in different countries throughout the world will be presented and discussed. This course is designed for students majoring in criminal justice, education, social work, psychology, nursing, and other areas where knowledge of child maltreatment and advocating for children will be necessary.
