The Indiana Wesleyan University Music Academy (hereafter IWUMA) was established to provide a service to the many community residents who call for music lessons for themselves, or for a loved one. The Music Academy is also a great opportunity for a great opportunity for IWU students to gain experience teaching in a protected and encouraging environment.
Mission
The mission of the IWU Music Academy is to provide educational instruction and performing opportunities in music through private vocal and instrumental lessons. It further seeks to encourage students to use their talents and gifts to honor God and to bring pleasure to others.
Perform
We believe that performing is an essential element of music education. All music academy students are encouraged to perform in a recital each semester, held in the Herman Baker Recital Hall of the Phillippe Performing Arts Center on the Marion campus of Indiana Wesleyan University. Students and parents are also encouraged to attend IWU music events, the majority of which are free and open to the public.
Fees & Details
The student cost is $150 for ten half-hour lessons taught by a vetted and approved IWU music student. The thirty-minute lessons will recur once per week at a time scheduled with each individual instructor. The entire fee is due at the time of the first lesson unless arrangements have been approved through the IWUMA Director.
