Computer Science Education
Computers are becoming an increasingly more important part of everyday life. Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) will require every K-12 school in Indiana to include computer science in its curriculum. To help teachers in these schools prepare to teach computer science, IDOE funded several universities in the state to offer teacher training programs. Under the leadership of Dr. Joe Hoffert, Indiana Wesleyan University received a grant to be a site provider for the Indiana Computes! curriculum (https://www.indianacomputes.net/). Throughout the 2020-2021 academic year, Dr. Hoffert will run workshops and computer science education courses for local area teachers.
