  • Human Communication

Every aspect of human behavior is driven by communication, and any interaction can find its success or failure in proper communication. A degree in Human Communication from Indiana Wesleyan University gives you comprehensive preparation in Christ-centered communication theory and practice, equipping you for graduate study or a variety of careers.

As part of our program, you will gain a better understanding of conflict resolution, influence, problem solving, cultural competencies, and leadership.

With a degree in Human Communication, you can assume a range of roles — anything from ministry and university teaching to professional workplace and community service. Occupational studies consistently show that all employers, regardless of profession, place oral and written communication skills at the top of the list when looking to hire.

The Options are Limitless

You can earn either a Bachelor of Arts in Human Communication or a Bachelor of Science in Human Communication from Indiana Wesleyan University; a minor in Human Communication is another excellent option that will complement your studies at IWU, making you stand out in the job market and giving you flexibility in your choice of career.

Faculty

All of our faculty members have doctoral degrees and professional experience in corporate, nonprofit, ministry and para-ministry, media, or theatrical settings. Because they have experience as working communication professionals, they are experts at putting theory into practice. Their research and professional contacts enrich students in and out of the classroom.

Dr. Greg Fiebig is an experienced professional in directing, acting, communication scholarship, and teaching. He is also the founder and executive director of Hoosier Shakes, a professional summer stock repertory theatre in Marion, Indiana.

Dr. Linda Manganello has extensive experience teaching communication in middle school, high school, and college settings. She also specializes in interpersonal, intercultural, and organizational communication.
